It turns out that my friend Rick Herzog had a huge tree come down in his next door neighbors yard. Interesting, Robert Stackhouse recently had my slides out on a slide table and was discussing my artwork. He moved them around like Tarot cards and began the story. He said you are making large architectural skeletal pieces that are about being in danger. These vortexes are unsafe places: huge waves, bonfires and tornadoes. Yet, the viewer can approach and stand in and under them safely. This is what you are doing. I finished with an upside down rusty roof suspended by the giant walking trees. The viewer walks under this giant belly, surrounded by massive hunks of tree bolted into place.
