Yo-Yoing. Bouncing pits. That is what cavers call descending underground on ropes with vertical gear.
The sides of the pits are typically eroded in a sort of reverse fluting. These wells can be hundreds of feet deep and narrow as ten feet.
This sculpture is built of old roofing and timbers salvaged from a hundred year old building in Hayden, Alabama and are installed in the Cue Art Foundation, Chelsea, NY.
