Barn Wave Boat

18'x14'x16' boards from a demolished barn in Lynchburg, Tennessee

Riverfront Park, Charleston, South Carolina 2008

A friend of mine is an apprentice pilot for the Charleston Harbor. While building this wave I heard a huge freighter on the river blow it's horn and looked around to find my friend waving from beside the bridge. So, this sculpture started as a ship plowing through the waves, but as a guard pointed out, it looks more like a snail.
